Report: Drilling, gas-transportation infrastructure drive W.Va. employment

West Virginia's oil and natural gas industry has generated more than 900 direct jobs with average salaries of more than $70,000 since drilling activities in the Marcellus Shale started in 2008, according to WorkForce West Virginia. "The overall effect on specific industries in West Virginia due to activity within the Marcellus Shale is becoming more evident," the group's report says.
