Brand extensions get mixed reviews

Brand extension efforts including Adidas deodorant, Ugg bags and Sylvester Stallone high-protein pudding earned low marks in a survey from consultancy TippingSprung, in which 449 marketing experts rated recent efforts by product marketers to capitalize on a successful brand name. Iams pet health insurance and Starbucks Coffee Liqueur scored high as among the smartest and most successful brand extension efforts.
