British schools minister calls for more pressure on struggling schools

During a conference in Australia for education leaders, British Schools Minister Jim Knight said that putting greater pressure on under-performing schools can lead to more success, and that Victoria's improvements in school leadership were impressive. Knight also compared Britain's data-reporting system to the new reporting standards Victoria recently adopted and said that in many cases school standards improved by making schools more accountable for student achievement.
