Apple sees new Lala music service as iPhone booster

Apple's purchase of Lala, the new Web-based music service, fits into the company's strategy of leveraging its strong portfolio of consumer-electronics devices and software -- the iPhone, iPod and iTunes -- to develop content and services, say industry observers. They predict the Lala mobile app will not only make Apple more money, but enhance the iPhone's marketability as well.
