Drivers in North Carolina urged to heed advisory labels about E85

Motorists in North Carolina are urged to pay close attention to advisory labels that say E85 is compatible only for flex-fuel vehicles. The Environmental Protection Agency has indicated that it plans to bolster its fuel-labeling rules to prevent owners of regular cars from making mistakes. The nonprofit Triangle Clean Cities program, which is working to make renewable fuels more available in the state, also is planning a consumer-education campaign about E85.
