Kalypto secures investment for wound-healing system

Kalypto Medical secured an investment worth $8.375 million for a wound-therapy device, the company disclosed in a regulatory filing. The portable system, which was cleared by the FDA in October 2008, uses vacuum pressure to treat chronic wounds caused by diabetes, leg ulcers and other circulatory problems.
