Maryland approves mall casino, but rezoning is in limbo

Maryland approved a proposed slots casino with 4,750 slot machines at Arundel Mills mall, but the Anne Arundel County Council has yet to approve rezoning the mall. A debate Monday over rezoning ended without a vote, and the council will reconvene on Dec. 21 to decide the matter. Ninety-nine people signed up to speak at the meeting, which began at 7 p.m. and had a midnight deadline for voting.
