Cemex will use carbon-measuring tool to label products' CO2 emissions

Cemex has introduced a tool to measure carbon footprints as a means to evaluate the greenhouse-gas emissions of its cement and ready-mix products. The tool is in use in the company's cement plants and will be added to Cemex's ready-mix and aggregate plants. The company will label its products with the amount of carbon dioxide emitted by output. "Knowing the environmental impact of a product helps producers, consumers and societies make informed decisions and take positive steps towards operating at a sustainable level," said Juan Carlos Lopez Agui, president of the European Committee for Standardization.
