CFTC considers seeking algorithms that describe derivatives

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission is looking into the idea of requiring trading firms to develop algorithms that would explain complex derivatives. The regulator is requesting feedback to "assist in the preparation of a study on the feasibility of requiring the derivatives industry to adopt standardized computer-readable algorithmic descriptions that may be used to describe complex and standardized derivatives and calculate net exposures," according to the CFTC.
