FERC rules in favor of wind farms in curtailment dispute

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission ruled that the Bonneville Power Administration discriminated against wind farm operators in the Pacific Northwest when it curtailed their output from May 18 to July 10. BPA's policy "significantly diminishes open access to transmission" and imposed unfair conditions on the wind farms, said FERC, which ordered BPA to submit a revised transmission policy for wind generators within 90 days.
