Different generations use different communication tools, with those older than 40 opting to use more e-mail while millenials predominantly use text messages, says Jeff Diana, chief people officer at SuccessFactors. More companies will need to focus on tools used by millenials and incorporate those into everyday use, he says. "The millennials are like baby birds chirping for their next meal. They are constantly connected, whether it’s text, instant messaging, Facebook, Twitter or dozens of other applications," he says.
