Colorado middle school experiments with same-sex classes

Preliminary results of a year-long experiment underway at Sheridan (Colo.) Middle School indicate students in single-gender classes have better attendance rates and higher math scores than their peers in mixed gender classes. The 60 seventh-graders in the pilot program attend same-sex classes in their core subjects, but spend elective and lunch periods in mixed groups.
