FTC backs off threats to sue over false health ads

Pulling back from threats to sue media outlets over running "clearly false" ads touting diet pills and other unproven diet aids, the agency plans to announce today that voluntary programs put in place by media companies seem to be working, as the number of false ads has dropped recently.
