Implantable device shows promise for Type 2 diabetes

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is testing the efficacy of an implantable device in reducing the risk of complications associated with Type 2 diabetes. The cell-phone-sized device from MetaCure discharges electrical impulses in the abdomen that help stimulate hormones thought to help turn sugar into energy.
