McDonald's to assist franchisees with beverage initiative costs

McDonald's has announced that it will pay up to 40% of the expensive renovations needed for the launch of its specialty coffee program, which also includes a foray into smoothies and other high-end beverages. "McDonald's has offered us several contribution options that we can choose to most effectively implement [the beverage initiative] in our restaurants," said Don Armstrong, head of McDonald's franchisee association.
