Florida legislators seek break on advance recovery costs

Two Florida lawmakers have asked Progress Energy Florida to stop charging customers "advanced recovery cost" for two nuclear power plants and pass those costs on to shareholders or look for investment partners. "We believe that nuclear energy is needed to alleviate our dependence on foreign oil. However, not at the risk of our financially strapped Florida citizens," said state Rep. Peter Nehr.
