School board approves efforts to recruit more minority teachers

The Jefferson Parish School Board has decided on measures to create more diversity among its teaching staff and ensure that students are not punished in a discriminatory manner. The Louisiana school district will work to recruit more black teachers, track student-discipline data and implement sensitivity training for employees.
