Florida may scale back the Everglades-reservoir plan to cut costs

Florida may scale back a planned 16,700-acre Everglades reservoir to cut costs. A smaller version of the project -- about 20 billion gallons instead of 62 billion -- would still cost taxpayers an additional $70 million, bringing the total project cost to $280 million. But that additional investment is far below the $400 million needed to build the project according to the original plans.
