Alaska governor seeks to direct funding for North Slope LNG project

A proposed bill from Alaska Gov. Sean Parnell will allow the state to allocate about $355 million to finance a natural gas liquefaction facility and distribution system on the North Slope. The plant is expected to have an annual capacity of 9 billion cubic feet. "If you have the gas distribution system in place and you have the infrastructure and you have the customers, that helps when we get the gas line in," said Sharon Leighow, a spokeswoman for the governor.
