Art therapy helps Fla. students with disabilities

A one-week art therapy program led by ArtServe Eco-Art at Sunset School Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., enriches students year-round by introducing them to dance, drama and painting as well as social skills, school officials say. The program helped one student with autism gain confidence and redirect his energy into more age-appropriate conversations, his mother and principal said. "It's powerful and it's very moving to see how the arts can get through to some of these students," said ArtServe President Earl Bosworth.
