Although there's still plenty to fret over in the newspaper industry, the outlook in the near term isn't quite as bleak as it was a few years ago, according to this article. Newspaper print ad revenue continues to plummet, but online revenues aided by paid digital subscriptions are growing, in part because of the growing popularity of tablet devices. The stock prices of certain newspaper companies is beginning to reflect this, signaling that the industry may be on the cusp of a turnaround.
