About 200 million photos and images are now available for free use online, but designers hoping to grab a no-cost photo for their website should make sure they understand the principles of Creative Commons licensing, as well as the differences among various types of licenses, which allow for different levels of usage, writes Nina Frazier. There are "many rules and regulations you must follow to use the photos for free and without risking liability," she notes.
