Google+ ad unit pushes brand posts beyond the social network

Google+ posts from brands can now be promoted to users across the entire Google Display Network, and marketers will only pay when users hover over the ad to expand it. Launch partners for unit, called +Post ads, include Toyota, Orange, and Mondelez's Ritz Crackers and Cadbury U.K., and supported content covers photos, videos and Google Hangouts. The unit "lets brands think of the entire Web as their social stream," said Google.
