Grocers use technology to change buying habits

Grocery customers purchase only 0.7% of inventory, a yearly average of about 260 different products, according to marketing company Catalina. Supermarkets are turning to personalized digital offers, such as mobile shopping and marketing applications, to improve purchasing habits and encourage consumers to buy more.
