Asian markets climb on stimulus expectations

Markets throughout Asia extended gains today, with shares in Hong Kong surging after losses the day before. The Hang Seng Index advanced 5.6%, Tokyo's Nikkei 225 Average climbed 3.2% and the broader Topix index gained 2%. China's Shanghai Composite added 2%, India's Sensex jumped 4.5% after a holiday and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rose 1%. South Korea's Kospi increased 3.6%, Singapore's Straits Times Index went up 3.7% and Taiwan's Taiex added 4.2%. Meanwhile, New Zealand's NZX 50 Index slid 0.5%.
