Fla. -- led by Broward -- is top state for new NBPTS certifications in '08

Florida led all states in the number of teachers to earn National Board Certification in 2008, and the greatest percentage of those teachers came from Broward County, where 358 teachers out of the state's 1,826 received the distinction this year. NBPTS-certified teachers in Florida receive an annual bonus for 10 years.
