Obama stimulus plan could give $7B boost to Florida roads

Florida could more than double its road budget if it receives $7 billion from the federal government under the Obama stimulus plan. Sarasota County alone has $385 million in "shovel-ready" projects that would be ready to begin within 120 days of receiving funding. The state of Florida now spends $8 billion a year on transportation.
