Port sediment will help restore California tidal marsh

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will dredge material from the bottom of a California port to restore the tidal marsh surrounding Bair Island. DDM Crane & Rigging received a $3.6 million contract to move sediment from the port channel into barges. "It has never been done before here in Redwood City," said Michael Giari, director of the Port of Redwood City.
