Report: Government should broaden research into nanotech risks

The National Research Council has released a report calling on the U.S. government to expand its research into the risks associated with nanotechnology to include studies from industry, academia and other sectors. The report says the National Nanotechnology Initiative fails to "present an overarching research strategy needed to gain public acceptance and realize the promise of nanotechnology."
