FDG-PET/CT pinpoints malignant lesions in preoperative, surgical scans

A study found that 18F-FDG PET/CT scans using becquerel can help differentiate between malignant lesions and benign tissues in both preoperative and surgical specimen imaging. The ratios of PET-avid to PET-nonavid becquerel were higher in surgical specimen scans than in preoperative scans, the study said.
