GOP lawmakers urge GAO to study effects of higher ethanol blend

Reps. Joe Barton, R-Texas, and Greg Walden, R-Ore., have called for the Government Accountability Office to conduct a study to determine the possible effects of gasoline containing more than 10% ethanol on vehicles and small engines. The move comes a week after the Environmental Protection Agency announced that it might pass by summer a proposal that would see the use of gasoline blended with up to 15% ethanol.
