Grant funds center for parents of students with special needs

A federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act grant will provide $50,000 for the creation of a community resource center at a South Carolina school, and the center will help parents of students with special needs. The money will be used to purchase books, videos and other materials for the center's library and to hire a part-time staff member to answer questions. "It helps to have a single place where parents can go to find that help," a district official said.
