PET brain scans show similarity between narcotics, game addicts

South Korean researchers using PET to quantify glucose metabolism in the brains of normal computer gamers and those diagnosed as game addicts discovered that the brain activity of those in the latter group was similar to that of narcotics addicts. The study could help in the development of rehabilitation programs specifically targeted at computer game addicts.
