Ushahidi brings Web-based citizen mapping to conflict in Kenya

An African nonprofit group known as Ushahidi empowered many of the citizen journalists that brought stories of post-election violence in Kenya to light. Ushahidi's Web-based system allows users to call up user accounts of flash-point activity based on maps or to map the locations of refugees and government forces. The site also compiles user data in charts that can be used for future study.
