For Vancouver 2010 Olympics, green is the gold standard

Vancouver plans to offer what it calls "the greenest games ever" when it hosts the Winter Olympics in February. Eco-friendly initiatives include a speed-skating hall with a wood-wave roof, rainwater collection and a convention center with a living roof composed of 400,000 native plants. Many of the Olympic buildings are LEED-certified, and all will be used long after the Games end.
