WPP chief: Global ad market won't rebound quickly

The lingering worldwide recession is driving some agencies, media companies and clients to agree to "shortsighted" tactics such as price guarantees, WPP Group CEO Martin Sorrell said at the UBS media conference in New York. Looking ahead to 2010 and beyond, Sorrell said China and other emerging markets, as well as digital and mobile media, are the likely sources for growth, although he's not sure whether Facebook and Twitter will have long legs.
