Larry Fink is chairman and CEO of the largest asset-management firm in the world, BlackRock, yet he is not widely known outside the financial world. He controls more money than Germany's gross domestic product, but somehow he and BlackRock have remained out of the public eye. Fink is aware of the firm's low profile, even using it in a recent motivational speech with employees. "We need to continue to build the BlackRock brand," Fink said. "And, hopefully someday, your families will know what BlackRock is."
