Edible deodorant gets put to the test

A company called Deo Perfume Candy has developed a lozenge that it claims will keep your body smelling fresh and clean without the need for deodorant. The candy purportedly works by delivering a monoterpene alcohol found in rose oil, geraniums and citronella through the skin. There's just one problem: It doesn't work, according to Martha Harbison, a reporter who tested the claims. "I would love to say I'd forgo the shower for a week on behalf of science, but I am pretty sure my colleagues would lock me in a closet," she writes.
