Fla. county advances plans for $1.2B mixed-use project

Officials of Osceola County, Fla., have approved plans for a 92-acre mixed-use development called Compass Orlando. The project consists of a 500-room hotel, 728 residences and 1.5 million square feet of wholesale and retail space. The $1.2 billion project will be developed by BCEGI-USA, a subsidiary of China's Beijing Construction Engineering Group.
