FPL exec touts benefits of Fla. nuclear cost recovery law

Florida's nuclear cost recovery policy has allowed Florida Power & Light to provide clean and efficient power while keeping its customers' energy bills low, writes Michael Waldron, the company's director of nuclear communication. Because of the law's provisions, he writes, FPL has been able to upgrade its reactor fleet and add more than 500 megawatts of power generation that doesn't emit greenhouse gases. These upgrade projects in turn will lead to billions of dollars in savings for the utility's customers, he writes.
