Colo. district to offer more gluten-free options

The Boulder Valley School District in Colorado has been identifying items on its menu that are naturally gluten-free, but now the district plans to add gluten-free bread as an option for students. School nutrition professionals also will work to avoid cross-contamination between items that have gluten and those that are gluten-free. "It's a step that a lot of parents were asking us to take," Foodservices Director Ann Cooper said, adding, "There will be many more days of the week that something is gluten-free."
