Computer science to be part of core curriculum in Chicago

Over the next three years, every public high school in Chicago will offer a foundational computer science course, with the subject being integrated into the core curriculum, officials announced Monday. Plans also include the addition of computer science courses in kindergarten through eighth-grade classrooms within five years. Officials said Chicago would be the first urban district to offer such courses in K-8 schools.
