More states get funding for IOM's recommendations on future of nursing

Ten more states will receive two-year grants under the Future of Nursing's State Implementation Program to better prepare nurses in addressing health care challenges, according to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. "Our hope is that with this support, we will see even more progress, and states will be even more effective in improving health outcomes for patients, families and communities," nurse and AARP senior vice president Susan Reinhard said. The 10 states are Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Illinois, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, South Carolina, Vermont and Virginia.
