N.C. adds 10,000 people to recycling payroll since '94

North Carolina now counts more than 17,000 citizens as employees of the recycling industry, up from 6,647 in 1994, according to a study from the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources. Companies are adding jobs faster than previously expected and collective payroll now nears $500 million.
