Nebraska's economy will benefit from the development of the wind energy sector, according to John Hansen, president of the Nebraska Farmers Union. He lauded the cities of Omaha and Lincoln, as their utilities will soon source 30% and 22% of power from wind energy, respectively. "This is by far the most wind we have built in a two, three, or four year period in our history. So by the time we get done with a few more projects we'll have almost tripled our wind resources so we're going through a big expansion phase now," Hansen said.
