Twitter, Pitney Bowes team up to improve Twitter's location services

Twitter has signed a licensing deal with Pitney Bowes to provide location intelligence the social network says it will use to bolster location sharing with tweets. The software will also help Twitter target advertisements more effectively based on user location. The Pitney Bowes program uses GPS signals to generate latitude and longitude metrics for mobile users.
