Vote will determine fate of $1.3B Ind., Ill. expressway project

A crucial vote will be held on Thursday by the Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission on the proposed $1.3 billion Illiana Expressway that would link Illinois and Indiana, which will determine if the project will move forward or not. The 47-mile toll road has been proposed to help reduce traffic congestion. Supporters of the project include lawmakers in each state; however, those in the path of the road are concerned.
