Atkins may help with epileptic seizures

Researchers say a high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet that tricks the body into burning fat and releasing ketones also does something to reduce epilepsy. The therapy is seen as a less expensive alternative to the stricter ketogenic diet, which requires some hospitalization; however, researchers warn patients should only conduct the Atkins diet under the supervision of a health care professional.
