A new $150 million airport in Branson, Mo. -- the first in the country to be privately developed and operated -- has landed its first airline. Beginning May 11, AirTran Airways plans to operate a single daily flight between Atlanta and the tourist town in southern Missouri. The airport granted AirTran limited route exclusivity plus other, unspecified incentives. "We're not writing a check for $5 million or anything crazy like that," according to Jeff Bourk, the airport's executive director. "That's all I can say."
