DOT reports first monthly figures on tarmac delays:

For the first time, the DOT's monthly on-time report for October includes statistics on lengthy tarmac delays. The finding: Out of 554,325 total flights in October, just 50 sat on the airport tarmac for three hours or more. Nearly half the reported delays were on a single regional carrier.
